INSTRUCTIONS FOR FILLING THE APPLICATION FORM

GENERAL GUIDELINES

The admission process to the MBAEx programme of IIM Calcutta will be conducted in two rounds.

Please note:

  1. A candidate can apply only once in one academic year, i.e., either in Round 1 or Round 2.
  2. Your application, along with all the required documents submitted in the online application, will be reviewed by the Institute.
  3. As it often takes considerable time to gather references and transcripts, we strongly encourage you to apply as early as possible.

Step 1 Section 1
Personal Information
  • Name: Mention your full name as given in the degree certificate, separated by spaces (e.g., Rajesh Kumar).
  • Photo: Upload a recent passport-size photograph; file size must not exceed 500 KB.
Section 2
Contact Information
  • Permanent address (residential): Provide your permanent address of residence. All fields are mandatory except Fax.
  • Present business address: Provide the address of your current office, or your last office address if you have resigned. If working overseas, provide the overseas office address.
  • Preferred communication address: This address is for correspondence purposes. It may be the same as the “permanent” or the “present business address”; if it is different, please fill in the details in the appropriate boxes.

Preferences
  • Accommodation Preference: This is your accommodation preference on campus. Select whether you require single or family accommodation.
  • The Institute's decision regarding accommodation allotment is final.
Section 4
Miscellaneous Information
  • How do you propose to pay for the course? Please mention the source.
  • Will you be sponsored by your organization? Please provide supporting documents.
  • How did you come to know about MBAEx? Please select applicable option from the checkbox.

Test Scores
  • Send the official GMAT score to IIM Calcutta through Pearson VUE by the deadline. MBAEx programme name & code: "Postgraduate program for Executives" & "9C-HT-99".
  • If the official score is not received by the deadline, an unofficial GMAT score may be submitted with the application within the application deadline.
  • Enter the GMAT score details and upload the scorecard in PDF format.
Step 4 Section 6
Academic Qualifications
  • Enter qualifications in reverse chronological order, beginning with the highest qualification (e.g., if B.Tech is your highest qualification, fill the qualification details in the following order: B.Tech, Class 12, Class 10).
  • State the institute name and degree exactly as shown on the pass certificates, including stream/specialization (e.g., M.Tech (Civil), B.Tech (Arch)).
  • Enter either the percentage or CGPA obtained for the corresponding exam; CGPA need not be converted to percentage. When mentioning CGPA, please include the maximum CGPA. For, e.g., CGPA of “3.20/4.00” and not “3.20”
  • Upload scanned copies of original /self- attested photocopy of transcripts/mark sheets for each examination passed till date.
  • For a bachelor's degree, a two-year programme is not accepted. The bachelor’s degree programme must be at least of three years duration, with a minimum of 15 years of formal study (10+2+3 or 10+2+4), or equivalent, in any discipline.
Step 5 Section 7
Work Experience
  • Provide expected aggregate full-time work experience in months as on 31 March, 2027 (e.g., 7.2 years = 86 months).
  • Enter managerial and international experience in the same format, i.e., in completed months.
  • Furnish work-experience certificates supporting the experience claimed. Self-employed candidates/entrepreneurs must provide organization registration details, salary slips and three years of income-tax returns.
  • Under current job description, provide only the exact nature of your work and major responsibilities in your current job.
  • Please ensure that experience entered in Step 5 matches the total calculated automatically at the bottom of the form.
Step 6 Section 8
Career Summary
  • List work experience in reverse chronological order, with the latest position first. Starting and ending dates must match the joining/appointment letter and relieving/service letter.
  • Complete address including contact number: Provide the address of your current work location.
  • Last drawn salary: State the amount with currency code (e.g., INR 80,000).
  • For each organization, upload one PDF (maximum 5 MB) containing self-attested copies of relevant documents: appointment/joining letter (applicable for all organizations served); release/service letter (applicable for previous organizations); latest salary slip (applicable for current organization); and any other relevant document.
  • Use 'Add More' and 'Remove' buttons to add or delete entries.
Step 7 Section 9
  • Activities and Interests: List activities and interests in order of importance, most important being the first. Highlight your achievements and the level of involvement. List at least one activity.
Section 10
  • Statement of Purpose: Use the essay to highlight who you are, your career path so far, professional interests and future goals.
  • Length: 500-1000 words.
Step 8 Section 11
Essay
  • Use the Essay to provide any other information you would like to highlight in support of your application or explain unusual aspects of your profile, such as poor academic performance in a semester/class or a gap in work experience.
  • Maximum length: 500 words.
Step 9 Section 12
References
  • Provide the names and complete addresses of two referees who know your intellectual abilities, academic performance, and personal character. Recommendations should be from someone from the industry familiar with your professional achievements.
  • Referees must complete their recommendations by the deadline.
  • Check referee details carefully before clicking 'Save & Continue'. After that, the details cannot be changed and the referral related automated mails containing the links will be sent to the given email addresses.
  • If a referee must be changed due to unavoidable circumstances, contact pgpex@iimcal.ac.in or pgpexadm@iimcal.ac.in. Changes may be allowed based on the merits of the situation.

Please Note:

  1. Accessing and Submitting the Application
    1. Once you have created your username and password, you will be able to save your partially completed application online, log out of the system and come back later to complete the application process by re-logging into the system with your username and password.
    2. You will be able to save your data and proceed to the next step only when all the mandatory fields are completed.
    3. You will be able to move to a subsequent step of the application form by clicking on the corresponding step number on the progression marker at the top of your application format.
    4. To save the data and move onto the next step fill in all the mandatory fields in that step and then click on the "Save & Continue" button.
    5. Photographs and other documents will be uploaded and saved only after you click the "Save and Continue" or "Save and Come Back Later" button. On clicking the "Back and Edit" button, you should be able to see the uploaded photo and /or files.
    6. Note that you will not be able to make any changes in the Application once it is submitted. We urge you to “Preview” the application very carefully once it is completed before submitting it. The System will allow you to “Preview” the application multiple times before you “Submit” it.
    7. Please save a copy of the filled-in application form for future reference. The application form cannot be retrieved once the link gets deactivated after the submission deadline.
    8. Only complete applications will be considered for evaluation.
  2. Prevent Communication Going to Spam
    1. In the email account provided to us (the one used for your user ID), please add pgpexadm@iimcal.ac.in and pgpex@iimcal.ac.in to the address book, and mark these email ids as “safe/not spam” to facilitate receiving future emails from these addresses in your Inbox. This will prevent the security setting of your email service provider from reading the automated system-generated mail as “spam” and blocking it. In case you are using your company’s email account, kindly confirm with the systems administrator regarding any security settings of your company’s email server that may hinder your ability to complete the application process smoothly.
    2. Referees will also receive automated emails. Kindly ensure that they do the same in their email accounts that are shared during the application process.
  3. Adherence to Deadlines
    1. Kindly be aware that you are solely responsible for ensuring that the application form, duly completed in all respects (including referrals), reaches us by the due date.
    2. Deadline for submitting duly completed application form for Round 1 is 12th October, 2026, and Round 2 is 01st December, 2026.
    3. Your recommender should submit the duly filled-in recommendation form in the given format by the application deadline date, i.e., 12th October, 2026 for Round 1 application, and 01st December, 2026 for Round 2 application.
  4. Application Fee Payment
    1. You are required to make a payment of INR 5000 (non-refundable) for Indian nationals and USD 100 (non-refundable) for NRI/Foreign Nationals/Applications sent from outside India, towards Application Fees to complete the application process.
    2. You may make the payment online by any of the following methods: using a Debit/Credit Card, through Net Banking / IMPS / NEFT transfer.
      1. In case you wish to make your payment online, you will need to have your Debit/Credit card information with you to make the transaction.
      2. If you wish to pay through the Net Banking facility, kindly check the list of available banks through which you can make an electronic fund transfer. Click here to see the list of available banks.

    4. Please note that you will be provided with an interim report on the payment status immediately. However, only after a final Confirmation Report is received from our Banker indicating that the payment has gone through successfully, will your application will be evaluated, and you will be considered for the next step in the application process. You will be informed regarding this by email within two working days of confirmation of receipt of the amount.
